In preparation for amphibious landings vehicles were "waterproofed" These "Wade Flags" were shellacked to the windshield to insure that process was completed. There is a checklist under the flag for inspectors to fill out with the vehicle registration number, date, hour, and initials. On the backside facing the driver are instructions for "Before You Wade" and the "De-Waterproofing" afterwards. Instructions included.
